Assistant Manager

Location:Central Scotland (covering Fife, Forth Valley, Tayside, South Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire)

Hours:Part-Time, 18 hours per week
Salary:£36,076 (FTE), pro rata for 18 hours- £18,038
Contract:Fixed Term 12 months (with possible extension)
Working Arrangement:Office-based with flexibility for home working

About the Role:

21HSC are proud to announce that we have been exclusively retained by Circle to recruit an Assistant Manager to support the delivery and development of projects that support individuals and families affected by poverty, inequality and involvement with the justice system.

The service takes a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, providing compassionate support to individuals and families both within communities and during transitions in and out of the justice system.

The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, staff supervision and partnership coordination to ensure services are delivered to a high standard across multiple localities. Working closely with senior management, the Assistant Manager will play a key role in service improvement, quality assurance and the ongoing development and sustainability of the projects.

Role and Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day operational leadership as part of the Upside Pod to support service delivery and development.

Support the effective delivery and continuous improvement of project services across multiple localities.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with statutory agencies, third sector organisations and partnership networks.

Represent the organisation at multi-agency meetings, networks and forums.

Provide supervision and support to Senior Project Workers and wider project staff.

Promote reflective practice, professional development and a culture of continuous learning across the team.

Oversee the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed family support interventions.

Ensure robust case management and accurate recording using systems such as PULSE and Inform (CRM).

Ensure safeguarding procedures, risk assessments and organisational quality frameworks are followed.

Monitor casework data and outcomes, producing reports for funders and senior management.

Support project budget management and contribute to sustainability planning and funding applications.

Lead the planning and coordination of the organisations Staff Development Days held three times each year.

Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to strengthen service delivery.

Undertake other relevant duties appropriate to the level of the role.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

Professional qualification in social work, social care, education, health, or another relevant discipline.

Strong understanding of the experiences of individuals and families affected by poverty, inequality, stigma and the justice system.

Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and strengths-based approaches.

Understanding of community justice frameworks, prison throughcare and family support systems.

Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, risk assessment processes and quality assurance frameworks.

Awareness of national policy frameworks including The Promise and GIRFEC.

Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.

Excellent communication, partnership working and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyse data, monitor outcomes and produce high-quality reports.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple areas.

Confident using digital systems and databases for case recording and reporting.

Commitment to reflective practice and continuous learning.

Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

Evidence of continuous professional development related to working with vulnerable families.

Training in risk assessment frameworks, child protection or adult protection.

Experience using case management systems such as PULSE or Inform (CRM).

Experience of funding environments, commissioning processes or project sustainability planning.

Experience delivering or coordinating staff training or development activities.

Experience contributing to funding applications.

Additional Information:

A full UK driving licence and access to a car is required due to travel across service areas.

This role involves partnership working across a range of statutory and third sector organisations.
