KS1 Teaching Assistant – Year 1 (SEND Support)

Are you a nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a warm and welcoming primary school in Strood? We are seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to Year 1 pupils with SEND needs, helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
Role Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, primarily in Year 1
* Assist with sensory activities and create a calm, supportive learning environment
* Help pupils with basic Maths and English, ensuring tasks are accessible and engaging
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored learning plans
* Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
* Build supportive relationships with pupils, demonstrating empathy and understanding

* Experience supporting children with SEND (particularly within KS1)
* A nurturing, patient, and compassionate approach
* Strong understanding of basic English and Maths
* Someone reliable, proactive, and able to start immediately
