What This Role Actually Involves
You will teach KS3 and KS4 History in a school where subject knowledge, structure, and calm authority are valued. Lessons are planned. Routines are embedded. Debate is encouraged — but always with purpose and control.
Your Role Is To:
* Deliver clear, well‑sequenced History lessons
* Teach students how to analyse sources and evidence
* Develop extended writing and structured argument
* Prepare students confidently for GCSE assessment
* Challenge misconceptions and deepen understanding
* Maintain a focused, respectful classroom environment
The Kind of Teacher This Role Needs
This is not a performance‑led classroom. It suits a teacher who:
* Enjoys explaining ideas carefully
* Values consistency over novelty
* Sets clear expectations and follows through
* Believes good discussion requires strong structure
Professional Requirements
* Experience teaching History at secondary level is preferred
* Strong subject knowledge and classroom presence are essential
* QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with strong academic backgrounds or relevant teaching experience.
