Job Title: Adult Learning Disabilities Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: Colindale, London (NW9 4EW) Start Date: ASAP Rate: £25.00 – £30.00 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered Contract Length: 3 months (with potential for extension) Job Overview We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a multi-disciplinary Adult Learning Disability Team based in Colindale, London. This role focuses on providing high-quality, face-to-face care and intervention to adults with learning disabilities across the borough of Barnet. You will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating adults with complex communication needs, often presenting with additional challenges such as behaviours that challenge and/or dysphagia (eating and swallowing difficulties). This is a specialist clinical role ideal for an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and well-established team. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Provide highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to adults with learning disabilities. Undertake comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions for clients with complex communication disorders and dysphagia. Act as a clinical resource within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to shared care planning and delivering integrated care. Deliver face-to-face therapy sessions, home visits, and in-community support where required. Maintain clear, concise, and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and legal standards. Support and guide other professionals by offering second opinions and clinical input across the service. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). Current HCPC registration. Post-qualification experience in adult learning disabilities and dysphagia management (essential for Band 7 level). Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary or multi-agency team. A proactive, patient-centred, and reflective approach to clinical practice. Why Choose Pulse?
