About the Role
The buyer will report into the Procurement Manager, carrying out day to day purchasing activities to ensure timely, cost:effective supply of equipment, materials and services to Hydros UK Operating businesses. Supporting sourcing activies, maintaining supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and contributing to procurement efficiency and compliance.
About You
You will ideally have :

A Qualification in supply chain, business, engineering or related discipline
:
Be working towards membership of a professional body such as CIPS
:
Experience in a purchasing or administrative role within a technical or supply chain environment
:
Basic understanding of procurement processes and commercial principles
:
Strong organisational and administrative skills
:
Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
:
Ability to analyse pricing and supplier quotations
:
Clear communication skills with internal teams and suppliers
:
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
:
Willingness to learn and develop within the procurement function
Key Duties
:
Process purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders in line with Company procedures and agreed commercial terms.
:
Support the implementation of procurement and quality policies, ensuring compliance across day to day purchasing activities.
:
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, comparing price, lead time, and commercial terms to support sourcing decisions.
:
Assist in supplier selection and negotiation activities under the guidance of the Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager.
:
Monitor open orders to ensure on time delivery, resolving issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
:
Identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements and escalate these to the Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager.

Maintain accurate procurement data, including pricing, lead times, supplier information, and order status.

Support the tracking and reporting of procurement performance metrics, including:
