Band 5 Podiatrist (1.0 wte) – 36 hours per week
Work base: Highland Podiatry Centre, Abban Street, Inverness
This post is open to recent graduates who wish to increase their clinical skills. It may include a period of mentorship covering clinical techniques in advance of those usually experienced at college. Topics will include extensive nail surgery experience, posterior tibial blocks, deep enucleations, needling/blunt dissections of verrucae, MSK podiatry and wound care management of high-risk limbs. No previous experience is necessary, though an understanding of the philosophy of care aims is desirable. The candidate may be appointed at Band 5 level.
You will have a BSc qualification in Podiatric Medicine and be qualified in LA and nail surgery, with registration with the HPC. The work base is Highland Podiatry Centre in Inverness, which offers good commuting links.
The South & Mid Podiatry team is part of the broader NHS Highland Podiatry Department; all divisions meet regularly. You should be able to demonstrate sound professional and clinical knowledge, with an understanding of clinical governance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload, and a full, current driving licence, are essential requirements.

* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis with an increase in hourly rate to keep pay unaffected.
