We are seeking an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale new build residential development. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the internal fit-out stages — from mist coat through to kitchen installation, 2nd fix carpentry, M&E 2nd fix, flooring, and final snagging — ensuring high-quality finishes and maintaining programme deadlines. Key Responsibilities * Support the Site Manager and Project Manager in the daily running of the site. * Oversee internal works from mist coat through to completion, including: * Kitchens and bathroom installation * Carpentry 2nd fix and final fix * M&E 2nd fix (electrical, plumbing, heating) * Flooring and decorations * Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure works are completed to specification, on time, and safely. * Ensure all works comply with current building regulations, company standards, and health & safety procedures. * Monitor progress, quality, and cleanliness across plots and report back to senior site management. * Assist in managing materials, logistics, and sequencing of internal trades. * Carry out inspections and assist with snagging and handover procedures. * Maintain site records, daily diaries, and progress reports. Requirements * Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Finishing Foreman on large residential schemes. * Proven track record managing fit-out and finishing phases of apartment or housing projects. * Strong knowledge of 2nd fix trades and sequencing. * Excellent communication and coordination skills. * SMSTS or SSSTS certification (required). * CSCS card (required). * First Aid at Work (preferred). * Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
