Health Care Assistant – Hillview Family Practice
Hillview Family Practice is a GP Practice, who are passionate about providing the highest possible care to our patients. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a vacancy for Health Care Assistant to join our friendly and professional clinical team.
This is a great opportunity for an individual who relishes a challenge and to work in a busy GP surgery, with the focus on person centred care.
We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and conscientious individual to join our friendly and professional clinical team. Ideally you will have previously worked within a GP surgery setting, but training will be given to a successful individual.

Hillview family practice has over 7,000 patients.
Four GP partners.
Two Practice nurses, 1 trainee nursing associate (Current HCA), 1 trainee healthcare assistant.
We are a training practice.

Hours per a week 20 to 30 hours –Wednesday to Friday, shift pattern to be discussed.
Rate of Pay: Dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care.
* Wound care non-complex dressing
* Removal of stitches
* Perform NHS Health checks, weight monitoring, and Long-Term Condition monitoring (training can be provided in this area)
* Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals.
* ECG
* Administer B12 injections under PSDs signed by GPs.
* Administer annual influenza vaccinations/pneumonia under PSD (training can be given)
* BP monitoring including 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
* Injections, including B12, within level of training.
* Re‑stocking of all clinical areas and maintaining stocks and keeping all clinical areas clean
* To maintain and order clinical supplies and health promotion materials.
* Use appropriate templates in EMIS /Ardens for all procedures, training will be given in this area.
You must have a deep understanding of health services, together with a passion for improving lives and improving healthcare. Whilst you will bring your experience to the role, you will also receive significant support from the practice based clinical team and Practice Manager as part of your development. Previous experience as a HCA & phlebotomy qualification is essential. An understanding of EMIS Web is desirable.
