Job Description:
Our Finance Teams: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.
The Team: You will be part of the Accounts Payable team. We are responsible for the payment of all invoices for News UK and Wireless paying for all goods and services. This is a very busy role requiring someone who is personable, used to working in a fast paced environment and prides themselves on attention to detail and accuracy at all times. The team are enthusiastic, motivated and a collaborative group of people, sociable with a strong team spirit.
Day to day you will:
1. Day to day team management, including dealing with team queries
2. Set performance objectives and review monthly
3. Weekly catch ups
4. Team development
5. Work closely with the Tax, Compliance and Corporate reporting teams to ensure HMRC, NewsCorp, Audit and Sox compliance
6. Month end reporting including dashboards
7. Management of high risk accounts and Direct Debits
8. Reconciliation of suspense accounts and proactive discussions with the business
9. Review of journals and manual payment requests
10. Management of IR35 Supplier accounts
11. Check and oversee vendor change reports
12. Review of payment proposals and collation of urgent adhoc payments
13. Responsible for continuous improvement of Accounts Payable processes.
14. Full involvement in any Process and System initiatives identified related to Accounts Payable Procedures
What we are looking for from you:
1. Proven management skills
2. Excellent working knowledge of SAP
3. Excellent understanding of Accounts Payable practices and procedures
4. Strong excel skills
5. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
6. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
7. Efficient, hardworking and organised with the ability to multitask
8. Able to evidence excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage workload to strict deadlines
9. Multiskilled to cover Contributions & Expenses Supervisor
10. Experience with SAP, VIM & OCR systems preferred but not essential
