About the role
As Production Chef, you're here to help build the overall success and reputation of our Teals to Go and Deli offers and TEALS as a whole. Working collaboratively with kitchen and food market teams, your role revolves around producing high volume items for guests on the go. Your skills, expertise and passion for food will 'add colour' to our guests' days. We will encourage you to share ideas that both shape TEALS' future and create positive impact in our communities.
The impact you'll own
o Upholding production and operating procedures that maintain good availability and deliver first class service.
o Communicating transport needs in good time and taking account driver availability.
o Efficiently ordering ingredients in line with forecasted financials.
o Receiving deliveries in accordance with Food Safety Regulations and ensuring strict rotation.
o Costing, preparing and portioning dishes to achieve target margins.
o Cooking with the minimum of food wasted, re-purposing bi-product wherever possible.
o Embracing the internal circular economy at Teals, offering near-waste retail products a productive use
o Undertaking the tasks required to prepare, produce and store food to TEALS standards.
o Maintaining clean equipment in good working order.
o Acting as an ambassador for TEALS with the Help for Homeless team, maintaining good relationships.
o Ensuring dishes are made to recipe and presented to the highest standards.
o Communicating closely with kitchen team, identifying and solving risks to production and calmly resolving matters if something doesn't go to plan.
o Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workplace through good cleaning schedules, daily check sheets, allergen controls and temperature logs. Ensuring equipment is used and maintained to the highest standards. Maintaining good personal hygiene, appearance and cleanliness standards for yourself and team.
o Meeting all legal aspects required by the Food and Hygiene Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act and Fire Regs.

What else you'll bring
* At least 2 years experience in a high quality fast-paced hospitality setting

* Yeovil BA22: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
* production kitchen: 2 years (preferred)
