Head of Sales (FMCG)
Salary: £70,000 £80,000 per annum

Overview
The Head of Sales will report directly to the Commercial Director and will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the entire sales function. This role requires a strategic and commercially minded leader who can design and deliver an effective sales strategy across multiple channels and markets, ensuring sustainable and profitable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
* Foster a culture of performance, accountability, continuous learning, and improvement.
* Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing sales team.
* Identify training and development needs to enhance team capability and cross-functional performance.
* Provide coaching, support, and accurate performance measures for direct reports.
Customer & Account Management
* Build strong working relationships with key customers across all channels.
* Proactively manage major customer accounts to drive sales and profitability.
* Develop a strong network of contacts and seek opportunities for new and existing customer engagement.
* Implement effective Key Account Management processes for strategic customer focus.
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
* Develop and deliver a robust sales strategy that covers multiple geographies and market channels.
* Identify, evaluate, and convert new business opportunities in existing and new markets.
* Lead commercial negotiations and secure long-term agreements that support profitable growth.
* Ensure alignment of sales activity with wider commercial objectives and business goals.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent professional experience.
* Proven experience in a mid-to-senior sales leadership role, ideally within the FMCG sector.
* Exposure to national or international markets is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated success in leading or mentoring sales teams.
* Strong experience managing key accounts and achieving commercial targets.

* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Experience engaging with major retailers or Multiplesideally at Head Office level.
* Commercially astute with strong financial awareness and the ability to balance growth and cost control.
