We are working with an inclusive mainstream secondary school in Sunderland to recruit a BSL Support Assistant for supply and long-term opportunities. The school is committed to accessibility and inclusion, ensuring deaf and hearing-impaired pupils are fully supported to access learning and feel part of the wider school community.
This role suits a BSL Support Assistant who is confident using British Sign Language and passionate about removing barriers to learning.
Sunderland | Easily accessible by car, on-site parking available
£90 – £110 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience
About the role
1. Provide BSL support for deaf or hearing-impaired pupils
2. Interpret classroom teaching using British Sign Language
3. Support pupils to engage confidently in lessons
4. Work closely with class teachers and SEN teams

The ideal candidate
11. BSL Level 2 or above (Level 3 preferred)
