Manufacturing Electronics Engineer - Bolton
Circa £45,000 (depending on experience)
On-site – 5 days per week
Security Clearance: British Citizen (BPSS required)
Copello are working in partnership with a leading defence engineering organisation to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Electronics Engineer to join their established manufacturing team in Bolton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support complex electronic systems across all stages of product assembly, integration and test within a highly technical and collaborative environment.
Due to the nature of the work, this role requires full-time on-site presence and successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks following offer stage.
The Opportunity
You will join a focused and experienced engineering team responsible for supporting manufacturing operations across assembly, integration and test activities.
The role involves servicing Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE). Work is varied, technically challenging and hands-on, covering:
* Routine calibrations
* Commissioning of test equipment
* Drift analysis
* Fault finding and repair to component level
* Support and maintenance of complex test platforms
You will work across a broad technology range from DC through to Microwave, supporting sophisticated test systems used in the manufacture of advanced defence products.
The team operates in a collaborative environment, working closely with manufacturing, engineering and support functions to resolve both routine and non-routine technical challenges. Ongoing development is encouraged, with structured reviews to support career progression and broaden engineering expertise.
About you
* HNC/HND (or equivalent) with relevant practical experience
* Strong experience in calibration of test equipment
* Proven ability to maintain and repair test systems to component level
* Ability to interpret technical documentation including drawings, specifications and handbooks
* Good understanding of calibration principles and processes
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
* Clear and adaptable communication skills
* Experience with SAP (desirable)
* Experience working on Environmental Chambers (advantageous)
* Ability to mentor or support junior engineers when required
