Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week - This is a full-time role; however, those wanting to work part-time will be considered. A minimum of 3 days per week is required. Please state your preference on your application.

Salary: Starting Salary is £46,142 (Level one) rising to £49,282 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and proactive individual to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team to undertake General Civil Litigation work. This is a permanent position and the work undertaken may include: Property Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Debt Recovery, Contractual Disputes, and other general contentious work such as fee disputes. Experience in all of these areas is not a prerequisite.
The role within the team is extremely varied and includes providing legal advice and assistance to the Council in respect of contentious matters such as rent arrears (leases), forfeiture/surrender, fees, and boundary disputes. You may be required to issue and/or defend proceedings, apply for Injunctions, apply for Charging Orders, negotiate with third parties, and/or engage in ADR on behalf of the Council.
There may also be scope to undertake other types of contentious work and broader policy and/or project work.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Solicitor admitted for a number of years or equivalent experience. A barrister having completed a Pupillage and been called to the Bar for a number of years.
* Ability to organise own workload and work under pressure with minimum supervision.
* Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
