Senior Pharmacy Assistant, Aseptic Services

Responsibilities include:
1. Assist in maintaining Technical Services facilities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors 2017, The Orange Guide) and NHS guidance on Aseptic Processing (Quality Assurance of Aseptic Processing, 5th ed., Alison Beaney).
2. Familiarize with Standard Operating Procedures and COSHH forms for Technical Services.
3. Complete in-house training and accreditation programmes relevant to grade and responsibility.
4. Develop expertise in handling and compounding cytotoxic, biological, and other medicines.
5. Assemble, spray, wipe, and prepare/compound products using aseptic techniques in a Grade A environment.
6. Dispense, label, and assist in distributing compounded products to patients.
7. Support the Technical Services management team in training new staff.
8. Dispose of waste appropriately according to SOP.
9. Maintain cleanliness of the aseptic environment and equipment.
10. Participate in shift rotas including late, early, weekends, and bank holidays to support a 7-day service.
11. Liaise with the clinical trial team regarding manufacturing requirements of trial products.
12. Contribute to the development and transfer of trial and new aseptically prepared products.
13. Manage stock control to ensure proper storage and rotation of medicines.
The role involves working on a 7-day service, including weekends, late shifts, and bank holidays.
