The Team
At The Craneware Group, our Software Engineering teams build and maintain mission‑critical products that support healthcare providers worldwide. Working in a fast‑paced, agile environment, our delivery teams bring together software engineering, quality, automation, and product thinking to deliver secure, scalable, high‑quality solutions.
As a Software Manager, you’ll lead a single multi‑disciplinary Delivery Team, balancing hands‑on technical leadership with people management and delivery accountability. You’ll work closely with other Software Managers, Senior Engineering leadership, Product, Architecture, and DevOps to ensure engineering excellence and consistent standards across our teams.
You Will Be
* Leading, coaching, and line‑managing a multi‑disciplinary Delivery Team, including Software Engineers, QA, and Automation professionals
* Contributing to the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality software solutions within an agile delivery environment
* Accountable for your team’s delivery commitments, forecasting, progress reporting, and continuous improvement
* Ensuring your team designs and builds well‑architected, maintainable, and scalable solutions using strong engineering principles
* Building and delivering development plans to upskill existing team members and support new joiners
* Creating an environment where best practice engineering, quality, automation, and testing are embedded into day‑to‑day delivery
* Supporting hiring activities and onboarding of new team members in partnership with senior engineering leadership
* Defining and using meaningful metrics to monitor delivery progress, performance, quality, and success
* Acting as a mentor and technical guide, helping engineers strengthen their skills, judgement, and confidence
* Keeping up to date with technical advancements and introducing improvements that drive innovation and efficiency
You Will Bring
* Strong experience as a Software Engineer, with a proven track record of designing and delivering high‑quality software
* Demonstrable experience in a Senior, Lead, or Managerial role within an agile software delivery environment
* Proven people‑management experience, including coaching, performance management, one‑to‑ones, and career development
* A solid understanding of modern software engineering principles, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and good architectural practice
* Experience working across one or more programming languages and frameworks such as C#, Angular, Python
* A strong understanding of automated testing techniques and their application across web services and APIs
* Experience working with relational and/or non‑relational databases, including data modelling and performance considerations
* Working knowledge of ALM tools such as Jira or similar, along with source control and release management practices
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to technical and non‑technical audiences alike
* A collaborative mindset and the confidence to influence across teams and stakeholders
* The ability to balance technical decision‑making with people leadership and delivery accountability
