Salary: £28,605 - £31,029 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time)

Working Hours: 29.6 hours per week over 4 days

Contract Type: Fixed term (12 months)

About the Role

Graduated Response Inclusion Practitioners work directly with children, young people, their families and professionals in a variety of settings to enable them to re‑engage in education.

Supported by the Education Officer and your Manager, you will manage a caseload of children and young people, delivering a package of support to increase their access to education. You will identify barriers, find solutions and act as an advocate so that schools can make suitable reasonable adjustments.

You will be part of the staff team covering the East of the county and the wider Inclusion Service Team covering the whole county. Travel across the county is necessary, with a flexible approach and willingness to work out of hours. All work must be recorded on our databases.

This role delivers interventions that support children and young people to re‑engage in education, employment and training, empowering them for their future.

An enhanced, barred list DBS check is required.


Responsibilities

• Manage caseload of children and young people.

• Deliver support packages to increase access to education.

• Identify barriers and find solutions; act as advocate for reasonable adjustments.

• Record all work on databases.

• Travel across the county as required, including out‑of‑hours work.


Qualifications

* Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
* Evidence of training or further study that enhances understanding of education, training, employment and careers advice for children and young people, or demonstrable experience as outlined below.
* Experience engaging with children, young people and families at risk of missing educational opportunities.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
* Strong listening and communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to manage tasks and priorities as situations demand.
* Knowledge of child development and awareness of differing needs of children and young people.
* Knowledge of the education system, including specialist provision, the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and partner relationships to seek positive outcomes for young people.
* Flexible approach to working, including out‑of‑hours and willingness to travel to various locations.
