Strategic Planning and Governance
This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual wanting to develop a career in governance within a large and diverse organisational setting, to gain valuable experience. We are looking for a dynamic colleague with experience of servicing committees or meetings, together with a strong customer focus and excellent written, interpersonal and organisational skills, to join a small and busy team based in Strategic Planning and Governance for a year.
Key responsibilities
* Act as Secretary to a number of university committees.
* Support the management of student complaints.
* Engage in governance and compliance‑related activities/projects.
* Work with colleagues across the institution, persuading and influencing while maintaining a professional approach.
* Report to the Head of Governance Services and work closely with the Director of Strategic Planning and Governance and other team members.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should:
* Demonstrate a basic understanding of governance roles and responsibilities in higher education or a similar organisation.
* Show familiarity with the associated legal and compliance framework.
* Possess resilience, exceptional administration skills and a strong customer focus.
* Have experience servicing committees or meetings.
Work schedule
Part‑time: 29.5 hours per week, on a fixed‑term basis until 28 June 2027. This role offers a balanced mix of working from home and on campus, based on committee needs.
