ExpressVPN is a leader in online privacy and security, particularly in the U.S. and the UK. We’re looking for a talented, driven communications professional to help expand our mark in these countries and around the world.
The Social Community Manager will be responsible for owning and building the social media and digital community presence for our globally-recognized digital privacy brand ExpressVPN, as well as sister brands CyberGhost VPN and Private Internet Access (PIA).
You’ll engage with different target audiences and customers of our key brands, acting as the point-of-contact for social media across the group and analyzing our performance to ensure we stay the biggest names in the business. You will have flexibility in how you plan and execute your activities, and will benefit from collaboration with our in-house creative design and communications experts.
You will report directly to our Director of Communications based in the UK; engaging with our target audiences and ringfencing our reputation through owned channels.
Role Responsibilities
1. Be the voice of our brands online. Apply your deep understanding of online culture, tone, and style to engage our audiences. Craft content plans, define best practices, and bring it all to life in collaboration with our in-house designers.
2. Protect our brands from reputational harm whether it’s a delicate customer complaint, a malicious online rumor, or a PR crisis—with comprehensive plans, processes, and capabilities. Then, in the moment, be a first-rate communicator who can navigate any situation deftly.
3. Monitor social media for relevant conversations and trends and proactively share insights with product, content, marketing, and other colleagues.
4. Guide support agents in providing an exceptional customer experience on social media and review sites. Define guidelines; set, track, and report metrics; lead by example; and provide regular actionable feedback.
5. Support the development and implementation of external communication strategies and plans that deliver brand and business value. Collaborate within the global communications team; working cross-functionally as the gatekeeper for our social presence.
Role Requirements
* 4+ years’ experience working in social media, community management, and/or communications.
* Exceptional English writing and editing skills.
* Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
* Passion for social media, including deep familiarity and expertise in major platforms including Twitter (X), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Reddit.
* Experience in social media monitoring and measurement, including relevant analytics platforms and tools.
* Experience in consumer tech communications.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Self-driven with strong attention to detail with a passion for strategic communications.
* High EQ. Get people excited about working with you and about our company and industry.
Nice skills to have, but not required (if any)
* Demonstrable experience of working with privacy tech products
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment, or working with agency clients in highly regulated industries
* Experience with the affiliate marketing industry
* Familiarity with social media scheduling & reporting tools
