Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for two Project Workers, to work in the Paddington area. The service provides intensive, short-term 28 day resettlement support to clients moving into the private rented sector with the aim to reduce the risk of repeat homelessness and prevent tenancy breakdown.

The successful candidates will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working Monday - Friday on a rota basis covering early (8AM - 3:30PM) and late (3PM - 10:30PM) shifts. You'll work one week of early shifts followed by one week of lates on rotation. Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months (until the end of March 2026). The pay rate for this role is £14.85 per hour, with £1.79 holiday pay, totalling £16.64 per hour.

In this position, you will be required to:

* Hold a caseload of key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in outcome focussed, SMART Support Plans within a Harm Minimisation and strengths and recovery framework

* Assess referrals to the project to ensure that service criteria are met and to undertake comprehensive initial needs and risk assessments at the point of interview to ensure that suitable clients are accepted

* Ensure key clients' income is maximised by accessing appropriate benefits

* Complete detailed and thorough sign-ups to ensure that new residents understand the rights and responsibilities under their tenure agreements and to assist with all areas of move in to ensure new residents are made to feel comfortable

* Work with clients to identify activities they would like to take part in to occupy their time and to assist clients to access such activities externally or internally

* Support clients that may be ready to move into work, education or training by assisting them to access suitable courses or placements

* Ensure that all voids are prepared and re-let in within target

* Contribute to the project's income through the minimisation of void loss and arrears

* Monitor occupation charge accounts and address arrears with clients before they accumulate

* Prepare void rooms for letting

* Carry out room and building checks and to report and follow up all hazards/repairs/maintenance issues in a timely fashion

* Minimise risk to clients and others by identifying and following up any safeguarding concerns

* Meet day to day health and safety requirements, including duty system, lone working and maintenance, checks and reporting procedures

To apply for this role candidates must have;

* Experience working with rough sleepers who may be experiencing mental health problems and alcohol and/or substance misuse in a residential setting

* Experience working with rough sleepers who have a low level of engagement with services

* Ability to deliver a client-centred support service to people presenting significant levels of need and risk and to implement action plans through high quality risk and needs assessment

* Understanding of current Welfare Benefits and a level of numeracy sufficient to carry out tasks such as budgeting and support with clients to maintain rent accounts

* Working knowledge of Housing Management as applied to a supported housing and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with various forms of tenure including excluded licenses

* Ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders, particularly community mental health services and/or substance use services

* Understanding of current safeguarding

* Good verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective sharing of information and recording of case notes, handover to colleagues and effective communication to multi agencies

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
