In addition to dispensing medications, we offer a range of clinical services, including blood testing, vaccinations, and health checks. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a motivated and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team.
Job Description:
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and ensuring a safe, comfortable experience for our clients. While your primary responsibility will be phlebotomy, we are also looking for someone eager to expand their skill set. You will have the opportunity to undergo training in pharmacy services and complete the Pharmacy Assistant and Dispenser course (fully supported by us), with a view to taking on a broader role within the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform venepuncture for routine blood tests in a professional and hygienic manner
* Ensure accurate patient identification and correct labelling of samples
* Follow proper procedures for sample handling, storage, and transportation
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
* Provide excellent patient care and support during appointments
* Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth service delivery
* Be open to learning and training in pharmacy dispensing and counter services
Requirements:
* Previous experience in phlebotomy (minimum 6 months preferred)
* Phlebotomy certification (or equivalent qualification)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* A caring and professional manner with patients
* Willingness to learn and complete training in pharmacy services
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility with working hours, including potential mobile service work in future
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience working in a community pharmacy
* Previous or ongoing enrolment in Pharmacy Assistant or Dispenser training
* Knowledge of NHS and private healthcare systems
