Job Summary
Worcestershire Community Dental services is a county-wide service that sees patients on a referral basis. Our patients have additional needs such as medically compromised, phobias, special needs, autism, looked‑after adults and children. We are looking for a qualified Dental Nurse who is friendly, reliable, and understands individuals who want to make a difference to the dental care we deliver. We cover dentistry in patients’ homes, hospitals and clinics. We offer treatment via sedation, local and general anaesthetics. You will work alongside consultants, specialists, and highly experienced dental clinicians, therapists, nurses and receptionists. In our most recent CQC evaluation the community dental team were rated outstanding for caring.

Main Duties
Your primary responsibility will be to provide clinical support in a wide range of treatments for a broad client base. Extended duties would be a distinct advantage but are not essential. We would like you to have a welcoming and positive approach for our patients and be an upbeat and reliable member of the team, able to work well in challenging situations and maintain excellent cross‑infection control.
Our clinical sessions run Monday to Friday 8:45‑12:30 and 13:15‑17:00.

Job Description

* Undertake surgery duties on a daily basis with occasional reception duties associated with the needs of Worcestershire Community Dental Service.
* Work at clinics across Worcestershire.
* Registered with the General Dental Council and ensure maintenance of this registration.

Person Specification – Knowledge

Essential Criteria – People Management
* Ability to put people at ease.
* Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered on the GDC.
* Trained and examined to National Certificate level or equivalent.
* Original certificates to be provided for verification at the point of offer.
Desirable Qualifications
* Certificate in Sedation Nursing.
* Certificate in Radiography.
* Certificate in Oral Health Promotion.
* Certificate in Special Care.
Essential Skills & Abilities

Essential Experience
* Dental chairside assistance in a range of patient care treatments.
* Experience of organising and maintaining a dental surgery, including good infection control and decontamination procedures.
* Experience of working in a dental setting, including handling cash, booking appointments and sending correspondence to patients.
* Maintenance of a CPD portfolio.
Desirable Experience
* Sedation nursing.
