Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our established Orthopaedic Occupational Therapy team in Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, based at East Surrey Hospital. Within this role you will rotate across our Orthopaedic wards including elective and trauma Orthopaedics. Our trust is part of the Major Trauma Network which will enable you to take an active role in networking with other trusts and specialist units in the region. You will attend and deliver training specific to Orthopaedics as well as be involved with our Pre-Assessment Joint School for elective Orthopaedic patients, supporting them in preparing for their elective surgery. Our department operates an integrated therapy service, where Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists work closely together in each of the clinical areas. The culture of multi-disciplinary working is well established and respected within the hospital.
Responsibilities
* Rotate across Orthopaedic wards including elective and trauma Orthopaedics.
* Attend and deliver training specific to Orthopaedics and participate in the Pre-Assessment Joint School for elective Orthopaedic patients, supporting preparation for elective surgery.
* Work within an integrated therapy service where Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists collaborate in the clinical areas.
* Engage with the Major Trauma Network, networking with other trusts and specialist units in the region.

Pay, progression and terms
Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band on start (unless they have prior NHS continuous service). Thereafter, pay steps progress in accordance with NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. For part-time roles, salary is pro rata based on hours worked and relevant pay step/point. Note: Some vacancies may close earlier than the advertised closing date due to high application volumes.
