Due to our recent expansion, we have an opportunity to take on cabinetmakers to join our team.
Ideal candidates will have a high level of attention to detail, be motivated, proactive, and have a positive attitude.
This position is based at our workshop in Lower Dicker, East Sussex, where you will join a small, talented team of experienced cabinetmakers with years of experience in making bespoke kitchens and furniture.
Responsibilities of a Cabinetmaker include:
1. Setting up and operating woodworking machines and using hand tools to fabricate wooden cabinets and high-grade furniture;
2. Studying blueprints and drawings for construction or repair;
3. Planning sequences of cutting or shaping operations;
4. Marking outlines or dimensions on paper or lumber according to blueprints;
5. Matching materials for colour, grain, or texture;
6. Operating woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers;
7. Trimming joints for a snug fit using hand tools;
8. Boring holes for screws or dowels by hand;
9. Gluing, fitting, and clamping parts to form complete units;
10. Sanding and scraping surfaces for finishing;
11. Repairing high-grade furniture articles;
12. Installing hardware like hinges, catches, and drawer pulls.
