Senior DevOps Engineer | AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Monitoring, CI/CD, GitHub Actions | UK Remote | £80-85K
Overview
Seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance the resilience, performance and scalability of a large cloud-based platform. The role focuses on metrics-driven improvement, observability, and close collaboration with architecture and engineering teams to optimise infrastructure and delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and eliminate single points of failure across platform infrastructure.
* Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (primarily Terraform).
* Own solutions end-to-end from design to production.
* Strengthen observability, alerting, documentation, and runbooks.
* Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment patterns (GitHub Actions).
* Support incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement.
* Mentor teammates and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing.
Core Skills & Experience
* Strong background operating large-scale distributed systems in AWS.
* Extensive experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
* Understanding of relational databases (e.g., Aurora).
* Experience with messaging/async workloads and tools like nginx.
* Familiarity with monitoring/observability tooling (DataDog, Prometheus).
* Collaborative, proactive, strong communicator.
