In return you will be expected to monitor/manage a large sterile service contract for Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull which serves 35 Theatres and Ward & Departments for UHB.
Main duties of the job
You will be reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated. You will understand the importance of excellent customer service and team working. You will put into practice at all times the training that you receive which will be specific to the role and includes awareness of infection control and how the medical device are designed and used. You will come into regular contact with our clinical colleagues and therefore you will be a good ambassador by demonstrating Trust values at all times, showing empathy and respecting confidentiality.
The Assistant Sterile services manager post is hours. The role will be required to have experience in the full duties of a sterile service departments and a Decontamination unit that hold Quality Standards. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new skills and to offer a vital service to all clinical areas.

Essential
1. *Educated to Diploma level or equivalent professional qualification, Administration level or equivalent experience Level 2/3 Healthcare scientist.
2. *IDSc member and HealthCare scientist Registration
3. *Evidence of further academic/personal development
4. *Theoretical and practical knowledge of commercial, industrial and contract management, including associated legislation and regulation.
5. *Specialist and up to date knowledge of own area of expertise, including associated legislation, including Decontamination, Environment protection Act, Health technical Memorandum 01-01 and Health and Safety at Work Act.

8. *Experience of providing decontamination advice within a large, complex healthcare organisation
9. *Management experience at a line manager level

13. *Experience of developing/ reviewing and implementing policies, practices and procedures.
