We are currently seeking a passionate Chartered Psychologist to join our newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team within our substance misuse services in LLR. This innovative service offers individuals in the criminal justice system psycho-social interventions as an alternative to custodial sentences. As part of a national network of psychology-led MHTR services, we focus on personalized treatment plans that draw on evidence-based interventions. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality, tailored support for our clients.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will: Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists. Collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist to enhance innovative approaches. Oversee the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service alongside operational colleagues. Offer practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions to colleagues and local agencies. Inspire and develop your team, focusing on psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach. Manage a small caseload of service users with complex needs, delivering specialist psychological assessments and therapies. Contribute to the strategic direction and development of the service, building strong professional links with other providers. Explore ways to integrate broader issues like housing and employment into the treatment process. Collaborate with our national team to enhance psychological and psycho-social approaches across services.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
We are looking for someone who: Holds a current registration with the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist. Possesses a doctorate in your professional specialism and has a proven track record in delivering psychological services. Has experience in leading and supervising clinical staff, ideally with a background in substance misuse. Exhibits excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to the Recovery Agenda. Formal training in supervision is desirable but not essential.
