The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with diverse special educational needs. Your responsibilities will generally span Monday to Friday, from 8:15 AM to 4:40 PM. You'll work closely with class teachers and other specialists to: Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their unique needs. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to the ongoing assessment and progress monitoring of students. Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every student feels valued and can thrive. Support student's social, emotional, and communication development, promoting independence and confidence. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education. Who We're Looking For We're seeking an individual with a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs. Ideal candidates will possess: 6-12 months experience working in SEN or SEMH settings, specifically within a school or educational environment. Proven experience working with challenging behaviours in an educational context. We warmly welcome applicants who meet the above criteria and also possess transferable skills from other care-focused roles, such as SEN care, residential care, personal assistant to SEN, or fostering. Your experience in providing dedicated support and understanding individual needs will be highly valued. UK-based experience is essential. Excellent spoken and written English is a must, enabling clear and effective communication with students, staff, and parents. A pass grade in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) is required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, as there is no public transport close by.
