About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at our Burnley Wharf Marine Aggregates site in Southampton. Reporting directly to Site Manager, the Multi Skilled Operative will work on the day-to-day operations of mobile and fixed plant along with other site duties, help maintain the site plan and ensure stocks are replenished in good time, and keep housekeeping around site to a high standard.
Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
* Operating both Fixed and Mobile Plant on site
* Operating the Weighbridge
* Working with the team to ensure customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries
* Assist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
* Follow SHE policies and procedures
* Ensure Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
* Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
* Inspections on the plant and acting on defects and implementing remedial action
* Ensure that plant availability is maximised
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping around site
Please note that flexibility and adaptability are key to this role with overtime available to meet site production requirements.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in the role of a Multi Skilled Operative, the following qualifications and attributes are sought:
* Proven experience driving and operating mobile plant (Loading Shovel, Telehandler, etc.)
* Knowledge of Aggregate Operations
* Good Timekeeping – flexible to site operating requirements
* Good Communication skills – ability to bring problems to the attention of Line Management
* Full UK manual car Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points
Previous experience in a Wharf / Plant / Quarry / Heavy Manufacturing environment would be beneficial, but training will be given to the right candidate.
