Primary School Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – ADHD & Behavioural Needs)

Teaching Personnel are working with primary schools in the NP7 area seeking dedicated, resilient, and positive Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and challenging behaviours.
This is a rewarding role suited to individuals who can remain calm under pressure, build strong relationships, and support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviours effectively.
About the Role
* Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and behavioural challenges
* Support focus, engagement, and emotional regulation
* Implement behaviour strategies and individual support plans
* Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
* Maintain structure, routine, and clear expectations
* Support transitions and classroom participation
* Work closely with teaching staff and SENCo
* Help create a safe and consistent learning environment
Skills & Experience
* Experience with ADHD and/or challenging behaviour
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Ability to build rapport and trust
* Understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing
* Calm, consistent, and confident approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Proactive and adaptable attitude
