The Role
Working alternate 6-2 2-10 shifts Mon - Fri, you will be responsible for delivering the production plan efficiently across your area, maximizing yield and minimizing downtime and waste. You will also lead cost reduction initiatives, quality improvements, and support new product development.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with the Planning department to optimize efficiency and resolve issues.
* Support the Operations Manager in departmental projects and initiatives.
* Drive continuous improvement through KPIs and site-wide initiatives.
* Lead daily review meetings, setting production targets focused on performance, quality, safety, and waste reduction.
* Build relationships with other managers to enhance team performance.
* Foster a supportive work environment encouraging ownership and effort.
* Motivate and develop team members through communication, appraisals, and training.
* Provide training to improve team flexibility and capability.
* Inspire the team to meet volume, yield, and cost targets while exceeding quality standards.
* Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality policies.
* Lead in non-standard situations, including site evacuations.
* Communicate departmental targets clearly and ensure alignment with company policies.
* Participate in recruitment and labor planning.
* Manage absence, disciplinary, grievance, and counseling procedures per HR guidelines.
* Support proactive absence management and return-to-work processes.
* Prioritize health and safety for all, complying with statutory and company procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
* Extensive management experience in factory environments, especially in the food sector.
* Proven success in leading production teams and ensuring effective performance.
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and environmental standards.
* Experience in driving operational improvements and efficiency.
* Strong communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders.
* Team-oriented, fostering a positive and safe work environment.
* Results-driven, capable of meeting targets and solving problems under pressure.
* Decisive, resilient, and proactive in addressing challenges.
* Ability to build strong cross-team relationships.
* Competent with relevant IT systems.
* Upholds professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
* Confident decision-maker with a logical approach.
* Track record of delivering results in food production management roles.
