This Mechanical Service Engineer with rotating equipment experience role reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor and involves working on the service, repair, and inspection of precision engineered equipment. Duties include stripping, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment, carrying out site-based inspections, producing reports, interpreting engineering drawings, and using precision measuring equipment. The role involves both independent work and working as part of a team, with regular travel to customer sites across the UK. This is a Monday to Friday days' based role with overtime available on a voluntary basis, typically at weekends and during peak periods.
The Mechanical Service Engineer role requires regular travel and working away from home. Hotel accommodation is provided where travel exceeds reasonable daily commuting distance. Company vehicle and fuel card provided. Personal vehicle use is not required. The salary is generous and includes premium overtime which can be taken as pay or time off in lieu. A solid grounding in engineering practice is essential. A willingness to travel and work away from home is essential, along with a full UK driving licence. This role suits someone flexible and motivated by varied work and strong earning potential. It is not suitable for someone seeking a strictly local, fixed-hours role with no travel.
