Role Overview
Apply for the Head of Sports Programmes role at The MABA Group CIC. This inclusive volunteer position leads all sports programmes, designing and managing engaging physical activity initiatives that promote well‑being, teamwork, and leadership among young and older people alike.
What you will be doing
* Develop and implement a diverse range of sports programmes aligned with our mission and community needs.
* Lead a team of sports volunteers and coaches to deliver high‑quality sessions.
* Organise tournaments, leagues, and events that encourage participation, inclusion, and community spirit.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all participants.
* Work closely with youth leaders, families, and community partners to increase engagement and support.
* Monitor outcomes and adapt programmes to ensure maximum impact.
* Represent the organisation at events, meetings, and relevant networks.
Qualifications (Key Skills and Experience)
* Strong background in sports coaching, physical education, or community sport delivery.
* Experience working with young people, preferably in a community or youth development setting.
* Proven ability to plan and deliver inclusive, engaging, and structured sports sessions.
* Ability to manage and motivate a team of volunteers or assistant coaches.
* Good organisational and communication skills.
* Confidence working with diverse communities and young people from a range of backgrounds.
* Basic safeguarding awareness and understanding of youth welfare best practices.
Desirable (but Not Essential)
* Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications (e.g. FA Level 1/2, UK Coaching Certificates).
* Experience organising community sports events or tournaments.
* Knowledge of monitoring and evaluating youth programmes.
* First aid certification.
