Legal Secretary

* Salary: Up to £35,000
We are seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary to assist in the efficient day-to-day operations of our Commercial Conveyancing practice. This role is pivotal in supporting a Senior Solicitor and Legal Executive, focusing on both administrative responsibilities and minor fee-earning tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in conveyancing and possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Attend to clients in person and via phone, taking messages and providing appropriate assistance.
* Manage file operations including opening, closure, and archiving.
* Assist with paperwork and the completion processes.
* Produce accurate correspondence and documentation using digital dictation.
* Handle accounts paperwork and undertake file closure activities ensuring all balances are actioned and client confirmations are issued.
* Draft letters and emails to clients and external organisations.
* Prepare and dispatch mail and enclosures.
* Perform general secretarial duties such as booking appointments and managing room reservations.
* Issue client care letters via email or post.
* Provide quotes to prospective clients.
* Engage in audio and copy typing of letters, forms, and documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within conveyancing.
* Fast and accurate audio typing skills.
* Competence in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and ideally PowerPoint.
* Experience with a case management system and a good understanding of the conveyancing process.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication over the phone and in person.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
* High level of proficiency in written and verbal communication.
