Launching in September 2025, The Base is a new, values-led neighbourhood cafe in the heart of Barnes' village. Expect hand shaped loaves, warm pastries, and neighborly connection coming together in a space full of charm and soul. We are seeking an experienced and people focused Assistant Cafe Manager who shares our values to help shape and support this exciting, hospitality led concept, whilst building strong community relationships and developing an engaged, service focused team.
You Will:
* Build strong relationships with the local community, leading by example and coaching the broader team across barista bar and table service.
* Support the manager in maintaining and managing high standards across the team and all customer touch points, working toward KPI's and targets.
* Lead by example, acting with integrity, and maintaining strong product knowledge and respect.
* Champion and take pride in delivering great service and helping others.
* Celebrate individuality and be curious about ways to grow, build, and constantly improve.
You have:
* 2 /3 years experience at AM or Supervisor level from a cafe, bakery, coffee shop, or restaurant.
* Good barista experience.
* Experience with table service and some knowledge of wines.
* Excellent communication skills, and experience supporting hiring and the development of a team.
* A passion for service and hospitality.
* Good understanding of stock control and H&S.
