Your new companyA leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Planner to join its expanding team on a major highways-related programme in the Midlands. The business delivers complex infrastructure projects nationwide and has a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and long-term career development.Your new roleAs a Planner, you will help shape, manage, and maintain programmes across a significant highways' workstream. You'll work closely with engineering, commercial, and operational teams to provide accurate programme analysis, support delivery, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and strategic objectives.
* Develop, update, and manage detailed project programmes (P6 / MS Project)
* Provide regular progress updates, dashboards, and critical path reporting
* Support pre-construction planning, methodology development, and sequencing
* Identify delays, risks, and opportunities and support mitigation planning
* Produce NEC-compliant programme information to support EWNs and change
* Work collaboratively with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams
* Ensure accurate programme data and report to senior stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience working on National Highways projects (essential)
* Background in highways, civil engineering, or large-scale infrastructure
* Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project
* Understanding of NEC contract planning and reporting requirements
* Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-profile delivery environment
