BARNARDO'S SURREY FAMILY CENTRES- TANDRIDGE

Please note this position requires locality work in the Tandridge District of Surrey and a driving license and access to a car are essential

You will be required to:

7. Support families with complex and multiple needs
8. Hold a caseload of 12 to 15 families
9. Advocate for children and ensure their voices are heard and that their lived experiences lead the focused work
10. Facilitate evidence-based group work programmes and courses
11. You will be based at Tandridge Family Centre in Hurst Green, have your own car and be able to travel throughout the District.

The skills/knowledge/experience required are:

12. Experience of working directly with families with complex needs.
13. Experience of working with issues of family breakdown, domestic violence/abuse, and attachment difficulties.
14. Ability to communicate effectively with clients from culturally diverse communities and demonstrate sensitivity to their needs.
15. Ability to appropriately challenge other professionals to promote the rights of the service users.
16. Someone who is approachable, non-judgemental, friendly, kind, calm, creative and resilient.
17. Someone with excellent organisation and time-management skills.
18. Knowledge and experience of multi-agency working within formal systems of Child Protection.
19. Ability to liaise with agencies and practitioners to support families and gather information - making initial visits to families to risk assess, gather accurate personal information, gain family views, and begin to assess the strengths, needs and goals of the whole family in a holistic way.
20. Ability to work holistically keeping the children as the focus of work to improve outcomes and ensure safeguarding - visits with children held at school and home to include their lived experience.
21. Ability to assess and analyse family function, dynamics, routines and relationships within the family home to help to identify the root causes of difficulties to inform the Early Help Assessment within 45 calendar days.
22. Experience of detailed case recording and an understanding of the importance of keeping timely and accurate case notes.
23. Experience delivering groups and sessions.

As Barnardo's Family Centres we have supportive and inclusive teams. We are a fully funded service, commissioned by Surrey County Council, to deliver their Early Help Programme to families with children aged 0-19 (or 25 with SEND).
