Mechanical Engineer Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the United Kingdom. As a Mechanical Engineer at JLL, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing steam boiler systems in commercial and industrial facilities. Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor steam boiler systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Conduct regular inspections of boiler equipment to assess performance and identify issues. Monitor and adjust boiler controls, such as water level, pressure, and temperature, to maintain optimal conditions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards. Preventive Maintenance and Repairs: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for steam boiler systems. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts. Diagnose and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions and breakdowns. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and equipment installations. Efficiency Enhancement: Analyse boiler system data to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements. Recommend and implement measures to optimize boiler performance and reduce energy consumption. Install and upgrade boiler controls, instrumentation, and monitoring systems as required. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Generate reports on boiler performance, maintenance schedules, and energy consumption. Collaborate with facility management teams to ensure effective communication and timely reporting. Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a similar role. Strong knowledge of steam boiler operations, maintenance, and repair techniques. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Health and Safety Executive, Pressure Systems Safety Regulations). Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for identifying boiler system issues. Proficiency in interpreting and analysing boiler system data and performance metrics. Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients. Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Relevant certifications in steam boiler operations and maintenance (e.g., City and Guilds Level 3, BOAS).
