A thriving secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and engaging Teacher of History to join its successful Humanities faculty from September 2025. The school is proud of its strong academic ethos and is seeking a teacher who can bring the subject to life and make it meaningful to every learner.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching History to KS3 and KS4 students
Designing lessons that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and historical analysis
Delivering topics ranging from the Norman Conquest to the Cold War with clarity and passion
Supporting students in developing essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skills
Engaging in cross-curricular initiatives and thematic learning
The ideal candidate will:
Have a degree in History or a closely related subject
Be committed to making History accessible and enjoyable for all learners
Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to support learning
Be reflective, collaborative, and willing to contribute to whole-school initiatives
