Company Description
The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd, a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy through design and delivery of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) prototype fusion plant. UKIFS is establishing itself, setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing of the STEP prototype.
Fusion energy, crucial for combating climate change and ensuring energy independence, is expected to be commercially viable by mid-century. The UK, led by UKIFS, aims for a prototype fusion plant, targeting first operations around 2040. UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd. will lead delivery, collaborating with industrial partners and building a fusion supply chain with an estimated global sector value of £7tn per year. The salary for this role is £32,577.
Employees of UKIFS can be based at either of our sites; West Burton, Nottinghamshire or Culham, Oxfordshire. However this role is based at Culham, Oxfordshire, to meet the needs of the team. Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, with flexibility change working patterns to attend onsite meetings.

Job Description
The Role
The Technical Coordination Team is part of the STEP Programme providing technical support and coordination services to UKIFS work packages and projects. The role holder will be a self-driven autonomous individual, able to thrive in a highly technical environment. The role holder will be expected to model the UKIFS values and work on several complex, high level -projects within UKIFS.
The role holder will act as an advisor to project managers, lead engineers and project team members specifically specialising in UKIFS document management processes and project SharePoint deployment. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for supporting and facilitating project activities liaising directly with the senior technical co-ordinators and project managers to ensure delivery milestones.
Accountabilities
Document Management and Control
* Act as the SharePoint power user responsible for site creation, architecture design, and permission management.
* Provide first-line support for internal and external parties on STEP document management processes, including training and user support.
* Support programme and projects with day-to-day document management, including uploading to SharePoint and TDMS, formatting, attribute mapping, workflow tracking, and distribution.
* Provide Technical Coordinator support for ad hoc tasks to ensure business, programme, and project delivery.
Workshop and Meeting Support
* Support the chair in technical workshops and meetings, including capturing and distributing minutes.
* Note actions and ensure follow-up.
* Arrange meeting rooms and ensure meetings take place on time with all necessary preparations and materials.
* Perform Technical Secretary duties, including organizing technical meetings, taking minutes, and following up on actions.
* Act as requisitioner within the Unit 4 business system.
Project Management Support
* Act as the point of contact for project-related queries.
* Collate, process, and publish project KPIs and milestone tracking.
* Chair project-related meetings in lieu of the Project Manager.
* Support the project change management process and procedures.
* Assist projects as a Technical Writer in the continual development of the Technical Writing Process and its deployment across UKIFS.
Technical Writing
* Assist with planning, developing, writing, and editing operational procedures, specifications, work instructions, user guides, and other technical documents.
* Ensure technical documentation complies with UKIFS technical documentation processes.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Industry related qualifications or equivalent experience (HNC/Degree - ideally in STEM subject)
* Demonstrable experience supporting projects working in a complex technical environment
* Expert in SharePoint deployment, build and configuration.
* IT literate, fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Excellent people skills
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
