We are looking for an experienced and visionary marketing leader to join the RNIB team as Head of Strategic Marketing. This highly strategic role is responsible for developing an integrated external engagement plan that drives audience engagement and delivers measurable impact.
This role involves gathering audience and marketing insights and working closely with Strategy, Public Affairs, and Engagement Heads to translate insights into an impactful engagement strategy that attracts, influences, engages, and retains priority audiences.
The Strategic Marketing team (Customer Experience and Engagement and Communications Planning) acts as guardians, champions, and advisers around audience insight, customer experience best practices, and the external engagement plan, enabling the Engagement directorate to deliver and measure an effective and impactful engagement strategy.
About the Role
As the Head of Strategic Marketing, you will:
* Lead the development of a multi-year, insight-driven marketing and engagement strategy that attracts, influences, and retains priority audiences.
* Champion an audience-led approach, ensuring our marketing efforts are data-driven, measurable, and deliver maximum return on investment.
* Work closely with leaders across Public Affairs, Engagement, and the wider organization to shape marketing priorities aligned with strategic objectives.
* Oversee customer experience best practices and external engagement planning to optimize audience interaction and loyalty.
* Lead a high-performing team, embedding agile marketing principles and a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Ensure marketing effectiveness by balancing spend, channel selection, and audience insights to maximize efficiency and impact.
* Develop strong relationships across the organization to shape long-term marketing, engagement, and customer experience plans.
About You
We are looking for an influential and data-driven leader with:
* Proven experience in leading marketing strategy and planning in a large organization with a £5-10M marketing budget.
* A deep understanding of integrated marketing planning, audience strategy, and customer experience.
* The ability to analyze business intelligence and performance data to inform strategic decisions.
* A track record of building and leading high-performing teams, driving growth and impact.
* Strong experience in data strategy, CRM systems, and marketing automation to enhance customer engagement.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills to influence decision-making.
* A strategic mindset, with the ability to navigate complex marketing landscapes and drive long-term success.
