Job Summary
GKN Aerospace Filton specialises in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the TPM Engineer (Total Productive Maintenance Engineer) will be responsible for maintaining and improving the integrity of production systems through machines, equipment and processes. The TPM Engineer will provide time-planned maintenance activities ranging from aligning and basic fault diagnosis on 5-Axis CNC Machines to working in collaboration with team leaders to ensure all equipment in top working condition to avoid breakdowns and delays in manufacturing processes.
How You'll Contribute
1. Exemplifying a safety-first mindset and ensuring compliance to the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
2. Maintaining Regulatory Compliance.
3. In collaboration with Lean Deployment partners, apply the Maintenance Engineering steps of the Global Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program to achieve the required levels of maturity.
4. Develop program to reduce/prevent/eliminate asset failures
5. Work with Planner to implement and maintain preventive maintenance program
6. Ensure maintainability of new installations
7. Conduct forensic and Root Cause Failure Analysis of asset failures
8. Provide technical advice to maintenance team
9. Ensure proper operation and care of equipment
10. Establish a comprehensive lubrication program
11. Perform inspections of adjustments, parts, part replacements, overhauls, etc., for selected equipment
12. Ensure equipment protection from environmental conditions
13. Maintain and analyze equipment data and history records to predict maintenance needs
14. Assessing required maintenance tools and skills required for efficient maintenance of equipment
What You'll Bring
Essential
15. Experience as an Operator, Maintenance/Facilities Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
16. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with an ability to influence senior levels of the business as well as establish collaborative working relationships across different departments
17. Proficient in all Microsoft Packages
Desirable
18. Experience using CNC Machines at Maintenance or Operator level
19. Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications
20. Understanding of export control and regulations
21. Previous TPM experience
