Overview
We are recruiting for a talented Solicitor to join our medical negligence team based in our Leeds office. The successful candidate will join Partner Ross McWilliams, who has extensive experience in supporting clients affected by serious and life changing medical negligence. Ross specialises in complex cases including birth injuries, brain and spinal injuries, cancer misdiagnosis, and fatal claims, often involving inquests. Recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, Ross is known for his compassionate and thorough approach, helping clients and their families navigate challenging circumstances with clarity and care.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload while also assisting senior team members with more complex, high-value cases.
* Handle cases from start to finish, using commercial and analytical skills to identify key issues and propose practical solutions for clients.
* Aim to secure interim payments to facilitate rehabilitation, care packages, and suitable accommodation before claims are concluded where possible.
* Work as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for clients and uphold standards of patient safety advocacy.
About You
We are looking for a Solicitor who has a passion for medical negligence work and a proven experience working on high value multi-track cases. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
* 1 year PQE+ experience in Medical Negligence
* Ability to take instructions from clients and give sound legal advice
* Demonstrable technical experience in medical negligence
* Experience assisting seniors across high value complex cases
* Ability to manage own caseloads with exceptional attention to detail and seamless service
* Ability to operate independently and work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for clients
