Opportunity
As Field Service Manager for our Grid Connections (GC) and Transformer businesses, you will work with all of our products up to 400 kV. You will recruit, train, lead and develop a multi‑disciplined team focused on delivering safe, effective, and productive services to our customers.
You will be focused on providing technical advice to customers, including commissioning, installing and testing of products.
Location – Remote with travel across the UK, Scotland and Ireland.

How you’ll make an impact
* Managing day‑to‑day operations for the service team and projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
* Ensuring safe working practices are utilised to maximise outputs and productivity levels, and that teams are competent, authorised and equipped.
* Championing safety and compliance with HSQE policies and procedures.
* Integrating into our health and safety culture and supporting and producing risk assessments, method statements and test plans.
* Analyzing business performance to ensure ongoing delivery of outputs within authorised prime costs, required quality standards and timescales, identifying opportunities for future improvement.
* Preparing and managing budgets and monitoring appropriate cost information from relevant financial systems, focusing on minimising discretionary spend and ensuring proactive cost control.
* Responding appropriately to customer complaints, taking ownership and resolving as appropriate.
* Providing technical support to our operation and project management teams.
Your background
* Extensive experience as Field Service Manager working with switchgears and transformers.
* Previous experience in the installation and commissioning of key elements of substation projects, including:
o Substation equipment
o Control & protection system
o Installation, commissioning and maintenance
* Knowledge of international standards and best practice in relation to construction, commissioning and field service.
* Working knowledge of environmental legislation, applicable standards and specifications associated with electrical works construction.
* Will be required to travel frequently to various project sites across the region and to offshore wind farm projects.
* IT proficiency, including collaborative platforms and tools.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
