About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Controller to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Belfast. In this role, you will be responsible for translating production plans into actionable schedules, ensuring seamless execution across production and logistics functions, and driving operational excellence through cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Execution
* Translate the Master Production Schedule (MPS) into detailed daily/weekly schedules for work centers and assembly lines.
* Release and manage work orders, authorizing manufacturing activities in line with validated plans.
* Adjust priorities in real-time based on material availability, resource constraints, or urgent requirements.
Monitoring & Performance Control
* Track production progress, identify bottlenecks, and ensure alignment with schedules.
* Generate and analyze KPIs related to production execution and delivery performance.
* Monitor availability of key resources (personnel, equipment, tooling) to support production continuity.
Problem Solving & Recovery
* Investigate root causes of delays or disruptions and implement corrective actions.
* Develop and coordinate short-term recovery plans in collaboration with relevant departments.
* Integrate rework or repair activities into the production schedule as needed.
Cross-Functional Coordination
* Lead or actively participate in daily production meetings, providing updates and supporting decision-making.
* Collaborate closely with Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve production-impacting issues.
* Ensure planning tools (e.g., SAP, MES) reflect real-time production status.
Logistics & Material Flow Responsibilities
* Oversee inbound logistics, including goods receipt, inspection, and customs processing.
* Manage internal logistics and kitting operations to ensure just-in-time delivery to production lines.
* Coordinate outbound logistics for finished goods and spare parts.
* Monitor inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies.
* Plan and optimize transport routes and ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.
* Support warehouse optimization and explore automation opportunities in material handling.
Master Data Management (MDM) Support
* Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and validation of master data records (e.g., materials, suppliers).
* Support urgent data requests to unblock critical production or logistics processes.
* Participate in data quality initiatives, including cleansing, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
