GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join primary and secondary schools across Scunthorpe. This role offers both flexible daily supply work and long-term opportunities, tailored to your availability and career goals.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with class teachers and other staff to provide academic, social, and emotional support to students. You will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential by creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities:
* Support the teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
* Work one-to-one or with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage a positive learning atmosphere.
* Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
* Provide tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs.
* Monitor and record pupil progress under the guidance of teaching staff.
* Supervise pupils during breaks or educational trips as needed.
* Uphold the school’s policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and equality.
Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working in a school or childcare setting as a Teaching Assistant (TA) is desirable.
* CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not mandatory).
* A positive, proactive, and patient approach to supporting children.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to work across different key stages depending on school needs.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
