What is the job role?
As Team Manager for Children’s Commissioning, you will lead a team responsible for commissioning high‑quality, value‑for‑money services that meet the needs of children and young people across Coventry.
Responsibilities
* Lead the commissioning of services for Looked After Children
* Manage commissioning staff and resources
* Develop innovative service models based on identified needs
* Ensure robust contract management, quality assurance, and safeguarding standards
* Work collaboratively with partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector
* Manage budgets and ensure effective financial oversight
Fixed‑term
This is an 8‑month fixed‑term opportunity. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are not offering sponsorship for this role.
Legal & Disclosure
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be conditional upon a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of commissioning in children’s services or a related field
* Experience of managing staff and leading complex commissioning or procurement processes
* Solid understanding of safeguarding, legislation, and policy relating to children, particularly Looked After Children
* Excellent partnership‑working and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage budgets and deliver value for money
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
