Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to invite applications for an Integrated Respiratory Clinical Fellow (ST6‑8) to join our well‑established Respiratory Medicine and Integrated Respiratory Service (IRS) teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to take up a NHSE KSS‑funded fellowship offering three days per week (0.6 WTE) dedicated to fellowship activity, with the option to undertake a further two days per week in clinical Respiratory Medicine, combining service delivery with education and specialist development.

* Full GMC registration
* Experience in Respiratory Medicine with successful ARCP at ST6 level or above (or equivalent)
* A commitment to high‑quality patient‑centred care and multidisciplinary working
This post would suit a clinician seeking to develop expertise in integrated and community respiratory services, while gaining valuable fellowship and leadership experience.
Main duties of the job
The post is ideally suited to a senior respiratory trainee or equivalent with a strong interest in community respiratory care and airways disease. The successful candidate will work across inpatient and community settings, contributing to a highly regarded Integrated Respiratory Service that delivers seamless care for patients with COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis and ILD.
* Work closely with the Integrated Respiratory Service and the wider Respiratory Medicine team
* Participate in community MDT clinics and virtual MDT meetings
* Support asthma and COPD services, including regional MDTs for biologics and emphysema interventions
* Attend consultant‑led outpatient clinics (approximately 1–2 clinics per week)
* Undertake a fellowship project aligned to community respiratory or airways priorities, supported by named consultants and regular supervision
The post includes protected time for service improvement, audit, research or education projects, alongside opportunities to develop leadership, teaching and quality improvement skills.
Job responsibilities
From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the senior trainee rota. The senior trainee rota is compliant with the 2016 junior doctor contract averaging 48 hours per week.
The main duties of the post will include:
Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases.
Referral of patients to other specialties as appropriate.
Involvement in specialty and cross‑specialty multidisciplinary teams and meetings.
Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities.
Improve competencies in data analysis.
Provide opportunities for research, audit and service improvement.

Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience of General Medicine at SHO level
* Experience in Respiratory Medicine with successful ARCP to level ST6 and above
* Active participation and experience in audit
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* MBBS or equivalent
* Medicine training at registrar level or equivalent
* ATLS, ALS, APLS or PALS certification
* Higher qualification e.g. MFARM, FRCS, MRCP, MRCPG, MRCS, FRCA or equivalent
