Finance Manager - Plymouth / Hybrid - Up to: 65,000 - Interim with the potential to become permanent
I am delighted to have been exclusively re-engaged by a long standing and very successful client, to help find a new Finance Manager for their Plymouth office. I know this specialist services business well and have enjoyed working with them over the years to help grow and shape their finance team.
They are currently in a position of growth and are looking to strengthen their finance function with the appointment of an experienced Finance Manager. This is an interim opportunity, but for the right person it could well evolve into something longer term. This employer promotes a generous hybrid working scheme, with the potential to perform the role remotely for up to 50% of the working week.
Reporting into senior leadership and overseeing a small team, this is a broad role where you’ll take ownership of both the day-to-day finance operations and the bigger picture. You’ll be ensuring accuracy and compliance, but also providing insight and challenge to help shape decision making.
Key responsibilities to include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team
- Delivering high-quality management accounts with insightful commentary
- Driving budgeting, forecasting, cash management and financial planning
- Overseeing statutory reporting and the annual audit process
- Developing and improving internal controls, processes and reporting
- Acting as a key contact for external stakeholders including auditors and banks
I am looking for a technically and commercially astute qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least five years’ post-qualification experience. It’s likely you’ll have trained and qualified in practice, with a CV that demonstrates strong progression towards a senior finance role. You’ll have proven experience leading or managing a team, bringing not just technical expertise but also the confidence to provide strategic insight. A natural communicator, you’ll enjoy working closely with senior management and leading by example to support the development of those around you. This is not a box-ticking exercise, the leadership team are open-minded and focused on finding a committed, talented and broadminded accountant who thrives in a changing environment and is motivated to make a real impact.
