The North Yorkshire and York Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Crisis Team is recruiting Community Support Workers/Trainees to join their fast‑paced service. Role Overview
Community Support Workers/Trainees will support qualified staff in delivering crisis care, including community and hospital visits, enhanced support sessions, and documentation. Key Responsibilities
* Support qualified staff with community/hospital visits
* Answer calls from professionals and families, offering advice with staff support
* Deliver enhanced crisis support sessions under care plans

* Liaise with partner agencies and signpost/refer young people to appropriate services
* Provide calm, compassionate support in challenging clinical situations

Eligibility Requirements
* Essential:
o Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent (or willingness to enrol and complete within agreed timeframe)
o Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent
o Care Certificate (to be achieved within 12 weeks if trainee)
o Ability to complete Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within probation (6 months)
o Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
o Strong time management and prioritisation skills
o Compassionate, flexible, and team‑oriented
o Ability to travel independently with access to a suitable vehicle
* Desirable:
o Previous experience as Band 2/3 HCA or equivalent in a care environment
o Experience working with people with mental/social health needs or learning disabilities
o Knowledge of person‑centred care and mental health legislation
